Madeleine's first meeting with yoga was in 2008 at a gym in Sweden, she instantly fell in love with the practice and the deep state of relaxation in the end of the class. After some time practicing she started experiencing some pain and thought it was impossible for her to practice yoga, even more to be a yoga teacher.
A few years later, she found her pain healing in several somatic restorative courses with teacher Jannicke Wiel, founder of OsloYoga. Now, a whole new outlook on things began to rise. Yoga is not only about the physical practice, its about the mind and how you can heal yourself through a deep and conscious practice.
When she later met John Bentham, founder of 8TY, as her teacher, she realized it is possible to have a pain free but still physical practice. After attending two teacher trainings with John and then assisting a third one, she has deepened her interest not only in the physical aspect but in the teachings of yogic and buddhist philosophies, which has inspired her on the path to becoming a yoga teacher.
Madeleine also studies Naturopathic Medicine and is deeply interested in the connections between body and mind.
Her main focus in class is safe alignment but with a big focus on finding acceptance for where we are in our practice.
