Workshops Spring 2018
Dragon Dance
and Yin Yoga Workshop Sundays from 17:00 to 19:00 Dates: February 18, March 4 (11:00 - 13:00), April 15, May 6 with Louise and Gunnhildur Offered by donation. We will start our workshop with a Dragon Dance - a dynamic "Yang" sequence, where we build up heat and strength. Step by step we will learn to move on the rhythm of the breath, creating a sequence of movements inspired by tai chi, yoga and dance. It will open your mind to a complete different way of practicing Vinyasa yoga.
Following the Dragon Dance we will immerse into a sweet Yin yoga practice. Yin Yoga is a quiet and deep practice, where we find stillness through long-held poses guided by mindfullness meditation and silence. |
Flow Arts is dynamic movement therapy yoga flow created by Sensei Duncan Wong who combined his vast experience in Yoga, Martial Arts and in Body Therapy into this unique flow of Yoga.
We will discover how to connect our breath with movement and move through Asanas/Postures in creative and natural way. We are going to learn and explore how to activate core through wave motion, as a central point of our body. Also we are going to establish alignment/structure in order to release and open up or joints and body so we move more freely, feeling more energized, grounded and present to what is now. Through movement we will gain strength and simultaneously release, open up body, so therefore we will be more in balance. We will explore: ~ what does it mean have safe and joyful practice ~ breathing exercises ~ what does it mean to engage Bandha ~ how to activate our body and prepare it for the flow through wrist and shoulder therapy ~ basic alignment principles of downward dog, warrior 01, 02, 03 ~ how powerful/strong can we be - wall work ~ how to apply simple but effective Thai massage – partner work All levels are more then welcome. :) |
Yin/Restorative classes can helps us to let go of a current day or past week by relaxing into given Yoga positions.
We will use simple variations of yoga poses like forward fold, twists and back bends assisted with props which will allow us to go deeply into relaxation. Poses will be held for few minutes, noticing what's happening, being mindful of our body in the taken position. Basically we are relaxing with each breath more into the pose, letting go of any expectations of what needs to happen and just being present to ourselves of what is now. In this way we are signaling the body that its okay to relax, not being any more into stress mode. Last pose will be restorative pose which is held longer in which we will go into deep rest. In deep rest position body is recovering, restoring, resetting and we feel in balance again. |
